All I wanted to do was continue in the family cattle business. Everything I planned for: my education, summer work, daydreaming, revolved around this. At 19 years I left the country for two years. Fifteen months later my grandfather passed away suddenly and I returned home to find that the trajectory of my life, as well as many of my family members, had changed – forever. There had been no planning and the business was gone.
Over the past 20+ years, I have worked with many business owners. My mission remains the same. Help them, their businesses and families avoid these critical issues. Planning for a business owner includes not only his/her business, personal assets, estate, and legacy planning. So much of their net worth is tied up in the business that all things need to be considered in order for owners, their families and causes that are important to them, to realize full benefit of their life’s work.
In addition to 20+ years working with business owners and their families, I have a Master of Science degree in Civil Engineering and worked for a number of years as a consulting engineer.
